Getting pressed for time, with the level of time and preparation needed for shows and meetings so this will be a brief synopsis of these meaningful events.
Ridge Coin Club in Sebring meets informally during the summer months because our “snow birds” are up north. Still, we had about 15 people at the meeting, some show and tell, some transactions, and planning next years activities. We have some exciting projects in the works which I will share as plans develop.
The Palm Beach Coin Club show in Greenacres, 4th Sunday of every month was a busy session, with 46 dealers with a broad selection of bullion, coin and currency items. See coinzip.com for time and location, and by clicking on your state, find a pretty good list of shows and events. I can’t stress enough the value of attending a coin club.
Carmen and I attended the Ocala Coin Club meeting last night…a review of one members educational experience at ANA headquarters where he “minted his own coin” to implant the process deeply in his mind, viewpoints on summer FUN, upcoming events and a specific treasured find of a 1952 British 6 pence for which dealer Dennis Beasley has been searching for you. A nice variety of items and energetic bidding made for a successful auction.
Off to Orlando tonight for a meeting, then to Warner Robins, GA for a nice show on the 28th and 29th. Come see us – we will have two tables there.
Business is pretty good for the “summer doldrums” and the social aspects and camaraderie make all the activities beneficial.
